HTML stands for ‘Hypertext Markup Language’.
As the name suggests, HTML is a collection of formatting commands that create hypertext documents – or ‘Web pages’, to be exact.

When you point your web browser to a URL, the browser interprets the HTML commands (otherwise known as tags) embedded in the page and uses them to format the page text and graphic elements.

HTML commands cover many types of text formatting (bold and italic text, lists, headline fonts in various sizes, and so on), and also have the ability to include graphics and other non-text elements.

All we would need from you are the original resource files saved individually on a CD. The reason for this is so that we can visually see all the pages that need translating, including any links that need localising as well.

This way you can ensure that you give us everything you want translating in separate pages, rather than leaving it up to chance.

Desktop publishing packages are used for the design of documentation, such as brochures, and sales and marketing material, even large manuals and publications. Desktop publishing programs, such as Quark Xpress or PageMaker, are much more versatile for this purpose. DTP programs allow you to specify the layout in more detail. For instance, you can use multiple typefaces, insert pictures, and preview the appearance of the printed document.

You need to tell us which package you would like us to use, and whether it is MAC or PC based.

This is really important, as MAC and PC products are not necessarily compatible when it comes to language versions.

We have full printing facilities on site, and can offer:

  • Digital two and four colour
  • SGML typesetting
  • Lithographic printing

Our extensive network of professional interpreters ensures that we can cater for various types of interpreting.

There are a number of different forms of interpreting.

This approach is normally practiced in more formal situations, such as conferences. This takes place when a large number of people require interpretation and usually involves a combination of languages in addition to the main language of the conference. Usually the interpreter is situated in a booth with earphones. Several interpreters may be required for each language as they need breaks every 30 minutes or so.

Ad hoc interpreters work from and into a language consecutively, however, the setting is usually less formal and the number of delegates is generally restricted to twelve or less. In the case of commercial negotiations, the interpreter will sit with the participants and interpret when called upon to do so. A variation of this is whispered interpretation, where the interpreter sits alongside one or two people requiring interpretation and whispers the proceedings whilst they are in progress.

This means that after speaking for half a minute or so, the source language speaker pauses, whilst the interpreter tells the target language listener what was said and interprets the reply. This can also be done by a simple 3 way telephone call. This is common for more informal situations - small business meetings, committees and small conferences.

  • Costs vary, depending upon the type of interpreting needed. If you have any further questions, we will be pleased to discuss any requirements you may have in greater detail and quote accordingly. All costs are excluding travelling expenses and subsistence.
  • We only provide the interpreter(s). Any equipment needed for simultaneous interpreting needs to be organised by the customer.
